I figured out how to enable the device in VirtualDub and successfully captured video and audio without compression (produced a 110 GB file for about 1 hour and 46 minutes of content). I abandoned the Cyberlink crap because it aborted recording after incorrectly detecting copyright violation on my home video (camcorder home video source). In any case, I am getting poor results when using this product. just dump the raw bitstream and let the software / computer do all the work? Maybe USB doesn't have enough bandwidth to do that, not sure. Wouldn't it cost more to implement hardware encoding on the stick vs. Are you sure that the device only creates mpeg-2? I was under the impression that it relied on software (the bundled CyberLink DVD Producer) to convert uncompressed video and audio into MPEG-2. Why is it DVavi? the unit ONLY creates mpeg-2, anything else is going from mpeg-2 and re-rendering it to avi.
